JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective
The College Intern position is offered to college students to expose them to the various positions available at Weisser Distributing.  

Essential Functions

Interns will be assigned to one or more of the departments depending on Weisser Distributing’s needs and the interests and major of the college student.

  1. Warehouse

  • Receiving, cycle counting, restocking, pick, pack & ship, product labeling

  1. Customer Service

  • Messaging, returns, refunds, feedback/removal, AMZ CS metrics

  1. Sales

  • Channel Advisor, Marketplaces: Amazon, eBay, Jet, Sears, Walmart, ect., Outside sales

  1. Purchasing

  • Brand Line Expansion and new product acquisition, global sourcing, logistics and supply chain, PO creation, terms and pricing

  1. Accounting

  • Net Suite, Accounts payable/Receivables, Analyzing/Preparing financial statements, Adjustments/Inventory Entry & reconciliation

  1. Human Resources

  • Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, employee relations, benefit administration

  1. Other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Manager

Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and standard warehouse equipment such as fork lifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday.

Travel
No travel required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. One (1) year working in data entry and/or internet research required.

  2. Proficient with current Windows operating systems and Internet research.

  3. Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Experience working with inventory and researching discrepancies.
